This training will specifically
develop a teacher’s skill in applying yoga as therapy.
We’ll look at anatomy, kinesiology, and sequencing, analysis
of a student’s presenting problem, understanding the gunas
and the doshas for working with students, pranayama as medicine,
and the art of developing relationships with students that support
health and transformation. We’ll be drawing heavily on
the teachings of Ayurveda and physical therapy principles to
broaden each teacher’s tool kit. Addressing a student’s
stiff neck, for example, may require a structural approach using
asana techniques, an Ayurvedic approach using pranayama or body
treatments, and/or a mental approach through meditation and self-study. |
